Hydraulic vibration damper with external damping valve for vehicle

The vibration damper (1) has a damping cylinder (5) filled with damping fluid and containing a piston dividing it into two working spaces (13,15), and a controllable bypass valve system to set the damping force, inside its own casing (3) and linked to the damper by at least one flow connection. The flow connection is inside a tubular transition body (33) between the valve casing (3) of the bypass valve system and the vibration damper. The transition body centres at least one support body (41), which has at least one through passage (29) for the flow connection.
