The training system for horses comprises a closed loop track defined by a double fence (10). The track has a length, width and shape which is variable and is divided approximately every 10 metres by an electric gate in order to separate the horses. The gates are attached to a cable (9) which moves in one direction about the course, along a track defined by at least four support posts (2a, b, c, d). When the system is started, the cable and gates move around the track driven by a motor and reducing gear (4) at a speed programmed by the horse trainer. A computer is provided to regular the speed, which may follow a varying programme according to the trainer's requirements.
