Longitudinal girder with deformation element

The longitudinal girder takes up at least partly, a deformation element secured to it for a bumper (5). The deformation element forms a tube (7) in a section enclosed by the longitudinal girder, with the tube folded outwards, with the unfolded section firmly fastened to the girder. In the section between the fastening point on the bumper and the fold the tube comprises a rated break point, formed by a peripheral groove (14), at least in intermittent section.
