Convolution data transmission or storage method

A transmission (or storage) method for convolution-coded data signals which are divided into blocks of different significance, and in which on the coder side, 'puncturing' is appended to the convolution coding which is then 'undone' by the 'puncturing' in the decoder side. On the coder side the punctured bits (H1) of the higher significance blocks are isolated during utilisation of arbitrary (random) puncturing specifications (standards) and two different levels of significance of the data blocks, and transmitted or stored as additional blocks (H1) together with the non-punctured bits of both blocks. On the decoder side, these bits (H1) are used for reconstructing the blocks with the higher significance during puncturing.
