The grid comprises sections (11,12) coupled together, each comprising tubes (16) containing explosive charges and which are joined by parallel ropes (18-20). One rope at least has a fuse cord (21,22) to fire the charges. Couplings (13,15) simultaneously join the ropes and fuse cords of adjacent sections. Coupling halves on the rope ends can incorporate mountings for the cord ends, and the halves can overlap, being secured together by an anchoring component. The latter can engage in recesses in the halves. In each half there can be a slot-type recess and a drilling at right angles to it for a bolt passing through the recess, while the rope is attached to the bolt via a loop.
