The light source is controlled by a control unit of a sequence of impulses each of predetermined duration and irradiation intensity. The light source gives out short impulses (10) of predetermined repetition frequency, with irradiation and irradiation intensity sufficient to remove tissue. Subsequent irradiation (10b) provides irradiation and or irradiation intensity insufficient for removing tissue but emitting heat.
