SUBSTITUTED AMIDINOBENZENE DERIVATIVES AND MEDICINAL COMPOSITIONS THEREOF

Amidinobenzene derivatives represented by general formula (I) or salts thereof and medicinal compositions comprising these derivatives or salts thereof and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, wherein each symbol has the following meaning: R1 a group which can be converted into amidino in vivo; R2, R3 the same or different groups each representing carboxy or a group which can be converted into carboxy in vivo; X1, X2 the same or different groups each representing lower alkylene; m: 0, 1 or 2; and n: 0 or 1, provided that n is 1 when m is 0. Because of having GPIIb/IIIa receptor antagonism, these compounds are useful as drugs for ameliorating ischemic heart diseases, auxialiary drugs in heart surgical or vascular surgical operations, drugs for ameliorating cerebrovascular disorders, and drugs for ameliorating peripheral arterial diseases. They are also useful as prodrugs excellent in oral absorbability and persistence.
