PURPOSE: To provide an air cleaner in which after particles to be removed are measured, automatic operation can be done by incorporating a light scattering type particle detector. CONSTITUTION: An air intake fan 6 is rotated by a driving part 5 to stuck an air from an air intake port 3. While the sucked air is passed through a filter 7, particles of a specified particle diameter or more are caught, and further fine particles which has penetrated the filter 7 are ionized by a high voltage power source 9, and the ionized particles are collected by an electric precipitator 8, and clean air in which fine particles have been removed is returned again to inside a room from a diffuser 4. When air in the room is thus cleaned, particle concentration detected by a light scattering type detector 10 is gradually lowered. The revolution of the driving part 5 is decreased by a signal from the light scattering detector 10, and voltage input by the high voltage power source 9 is lowered. |
