PURPOSE: To remove foreign matter from mixed laver liquid in high efficiency. CONSTITUTION: Raw laver collected from the sea is roughly cut at least in the form of strips, the obtained processed raw laver is mixed with water or seawater to a proper concentration and the mixed laver liquid is supplied to a separation drum 8. The mixed laver liquid is passed through a slit 13 formed on the separation drum 8 and having a width larger than the thickness of the raw laver while preventing the clogging of the slit with a cleaning means 40. The raw laver strip is passed through the slit 13 from a side to the other side and the foreign matter larger than the laver is caught by the slit and left on the inlet side. The foreign matter can be separated from the mixed laver liquid by this process. The raw laver is scarcely caught by the slit 13 and smoothly passed through the slit in high efficiency. The foreign matter removing capacity can be increased by the prevention of the clogging of the slit. |
