<p>PURPOSE: To provide a motor-driven power steering system realizing close connection by spline between the output shaft of a steering assisting motor and an input shaft to a transmission gear without machining and assembling difficulty so as to transmit the torque of the motor positively to steering mecha nism to enable stable action. CONSTITUTION: Spherical parts 3a, 4a with the respective axes as the center are provided at the butt end between the extended part 3 of a worm shaft 11 to be the input shaft of a transmission gear to steering mechanism and the output shaft 4 of a steering assisting motor M, and spline teeth 5 are formed at the respective peripheries of the spherical parts 3a, 4a. A sleeve 5 is engaged across these spline teeth, and the worm shaft 11 and the output shaft 4 are connected to each other by this sleeve 5. A regulating plate for restricting the axial movement of the sleeve 5 is disposed on the inside of the sleeve 5, and the tip faces of the spherical parts 3a, 4a are brought into contact with both faces of the regulating plate so as to regulate the axial movement of the sleeve 5. It is desirable to form the regulating plate of an elastic body.</p> |
