PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high controllability by shortening a gap between continuous documents to a minimum limit by a document passage forming a complete loop, a plurality of driving motors and a sensor. SOLUTION: The pile of document bundles is continuously fed from a document input tray 20 through a U-shaped document passage 24 to an imaging station 16, and then one imaged one-surface document is directly discharged to a document output tray 22. During this period, first and second driving motors M1 and M2 are driven by a programmable microprocessor controller 100 and, when the front edge of a subsequent document is detected by a sensor 31, an initial gap is calculated, and a necessary return distance is calculated. This information is transmitted to the paper feeding servo motor M1, a return is made before imaging, and a minimum limit gap between documents is automatically formed. |
