APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING ALPHA, BETA-UNSATURATED NITRILE

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject apparatus for the production of anα,β-unsaturated nitrile giving uniform molar ratio of mixed gas and effective for improving the reaction yield by providing a pipe for introducing a mixed gas into a mixed gas sparger and opening an end of the pipe at a specific position. CONSTITUTION: (A) An olefin selected from propylene and isobutylene or (B) t-butyl alcohol is reacted with (C) ammonia and (D) oxygen gas in vapor phase at a high temperature using a fluidized bed reaction catalyst to obtain the objective nitrile having a C number same as that of the component A or the component B. A gaseous mixture of the component A or B and the component C is introduced from a reactor inlet nozzle into a sparger for the mixed gas through a connection pipe 3 extending from the reactor inlet port to the center part 5 of the sparger. The sparger headers are preferably positioned in at least four directions from the center of the reactor.
