PURPOSE: To provide a gas generating agent for an air bag, in which the base agent is prevented from being decomposed, and the base agent is stabilized for a long period while maintaining the characteristic suitable for the gas generating agent. CONSTITUTION: A gas generating agent for an air bag takes nitrogen containing organic compound and oxidizing agent as effective component, and in the gas generating agent containing the component for inducing decomposition of the nitrogen containing organic component, at least one of the nitrogen containing organic component and the component for inducing the decomposition of the nitrogen containing organic component is surface-treated by a coupling agent. |
