PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reinforce a structure in the direction vertical to a layer by braiding the reinforcing fibers of the inner portion in the radial direction of a preform and subsequently bonding them closely under heating and pressure within a mold to stretch the inner portion in the direction almost right-angled to the axial line of the preform. SOLUTION: A preform 10 has a plurality of concentric radial inner layers 102 comprising biaxially braided composite yarns. The braiding angle X of these layers 102 is set to about 60-90 deg. but pref. made near to 90 deg. to the utmost. A plurality of the concentric inner layers 102 pref. occupy about 1/3 the thickness of the preform 100. A plurality of concentric intermediate layers 104, 106 comprising braided yarns come into contact with a plurality of the concentric radial inner layers 102 from the outside. After the preform 100 is formed, it is charged in a mold and this mold is introduced into a high temp. compacting press having negative pressure function to compact the preform 100. |
