PURPOSE: To prevent the end of a document from being damaged with the reversed document inserted by controlling reverse rotation of a conveying means in a conveyance part and restart of a conveying means in a reversing part respectively after stopping the document conveyance of the reversing part temporarily based on the detected signal of a sensor. CONSTITUTION: A document conveyed on a platen 3 and brought to an approach route is brought to a carrying-out route 69 by the rotation of a conveyance roller 73. When the end of the document is detected by a sensor 71, a conveyance route switching guide 65 is brought to the lowest position, and motors 54, 99 stop. At a fixed time after the sensor 71 detects the end of the document, the motor 54 is rotated in a reverse direction to reverse the rotation of a conveyance belt 55, and the motor 99 is driven to rotate the conveyance rollers 72, 73 in a normal direction. The document passes through the top surface of the conveyance route switching guide 65, is returned to the platen 3, and is conveyed to the side of a stopper 43 by the conveyance belt 55 running in the reverse direction. |
