PURPOSE: To perform an unmanned continuous operation for paper jointing by preliminarily inputting the data of web length to CPU, and automatically executing the start and stop (cutting) of a paper cutting process via the detection of the web length of a web length roll in course of process. CONSTITUTION: Dciscriminating information on web rolls different in web length, or web length information is inputted and saved in a memory. As a result, the paper joint start and end positions for a web roll 1a in process are calculated, on the basis of the web length information. Thus, the web roll 1a in course of process and a standby web roll are subjected to a paper jointing process 26, while the positions thereof being changed via a turret 24, and cut with a cutter 27. A web roll finished through the cutting process is delivered and, then, the standby roll becomes a process subject, thereby continuing a roll feed process. As a result, the web rolls are automatically fed and an automatic operation continues. |
