PURPOSE: To provide a game device and an image compositing method capable of reflecting the information stored in an information storage device on a game and capable of maintaining popularity over a long period. CONSTITUTION: An information storage device 120 stores the number of play times information, total play time information, and game set information and holds the information after a power source is turned off. A game arithmetic section 100 makes game calculation based on the game set information and a prescribed program stored in the information storage device 120, and an image compositing section 200 composites a game image based on the game calculation result. A readout section 102 reads information from the information storage device 120 when a power source detection section 110 detects that the power source is turned on. An information update section 104 updates the information on the number of play times and the total play time at each game play and updates the game set information when the number of play times exceeds a prescribed number. New game characters selectable by a player are displayed after a prescribed period elapses. |
