PURPOSE: To obtain an olefin polymer excellent in high-temperature rigidity and impact strength by forming a propylene block copolymer component in the presence of a specified catalyst and then forming an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer component in the presence of a different catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A propylene copolymer component is formed by performing the steps of producing a crystalline polypropylene component and producing a low-crystalline or non-crystalline ethylene/α-olefin copolymer component in an arbitrary order in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst consisting of a solid titanium catalyst component, an organometallic compound and, if necessary, an electron donor. Ethylene and a 3-20Cα-olefin are then copolymerized to form a low-crystalline or non-crystalline ethylene/α-olefin copolymer component by adding an olefin polymerization catalyst consisting of a specified transition metal compound, an organoaluminum oxy compound and/or a Lewis acid or an ionic compound to the polymerization system, thus producing an olefin polymer.
