PURPOSE: To produce a sheet of coated paper having a low glossiness of white paper and an elegant tone with depth as a printed matter by coating base paper with a coating liquid containing a pigment, an adhesive and polyolefin- based resin particles having a specific particle diameter. CONSTITUTION: This sheet of coated paper is obtained by adding polyolefin- based resin particles having 8-30μm average particle diameter measured according to a laser diffraction method in an amount of 0.2-3wt.% expressed in terms of solid content based on a mixed pigment, containing heavy calcium carbonate having >=1μm average particle diameter measured by a sedimentation method in an amount of >=20wt.% solid content ratio based on the total pigment, and kaolin or delaminated kaolin having >=1.5μm average particle diameter in an amount of >=40wt.% solid content ratio based on the total pigment, to the mixed pigment and an adhesive of a styrene-butadiene copolymer latex as principal components, adding and mixing water therewith, preparing a pigment coating liquid, coating both surfaces of a sheet of base paper with the coating liquid using a blade coater and drying the coated liquid.
