PURPOSE: To provide an air bag device in which an air bag or a gas generator can be easily and reliably fixed on a base plate and strongly fixed and supported in expansion of the air bag, the ideal expanding shape can be secured, and compactness of the device and easy of assembly are secured. CONSTITUTION: A gas generator 9 is formed into a longitudinal cylindrical shape, the gas generator 9 is housed in an air bag 8, and both ends are fixed on a base plate 7 through the air bag 8. The longitudinal cylindrical shaped gas generator 9 is provided with a detonating fuse part on one end in the longitudinal direction and a gas injecting part on the other end, and the detonating fuse part is connected to a high pressure gas housing part. The gas generator 9 is preferably housed in the air bag 8 in a state it is housed and held inside a cylindrical straitening member. A plurality of gas injection holes are aligned and formed in the longitudinal direction of the straightening member, and the openings of the gas injection holes are gradually increased in the direction to be separated from the gas injection part of the gas generator 9. |
