PURPOSE: To obtain a refrigerant compsn. exhibiting a good compatibility and a high stability by mixing an ammonia refrigerant with a lubricant comprising a specific fluorinated arom. compd. CONSTITUTION: This refrigerant compsn. contains as the essential components an ammonia refrigerant and a lubricant comprising a fluorinated arom. compd. represented by R(XRf)n (wherein X is 0 or S; R is a 6-60C n-valent arom. group; (n) is 1-4; and Rf is an optionally partially substd. 1-25C fluorocarbon group having a ratio of the number of fluorine atoms to the number of carbon atoms of 0.2-3 and optionally having ether linkages in the main chain provided when (n) is 2 or higher, it may comprise a plurality of XRf groups). An another lubricant to be mixed with the fluorinated arom. compd is pref. a hydrocarbon lubricant. The wt. ratio of the total refrigerant to the total lubricant is usually (99:1)-(1:99).
