<p>PURPOSE: To improve the productivity of the subject young seedlings by improving the tillering multiplication of the young seedlings in the production of the young seedlings and reducing labors required for the tillering multiplication of the young seedlings. CONSTITUTION: A liquid culture medium containing maltose as a saccharide is used, and the tissue pieces of the Wasabia japonica are supported with supports at prescribed positions in the culture medium and simultaneously cultured. Thus, the tillering multiplication of the tissue pieces is improved. When the tissue pieces are especially cultured at a saccharide concentration of 30g/liter for 60 days, the tillering multiplication is increased approximately 4-8 times. Thus, when 1000 stock seedlings per lot are cultured for 60 days to tiller, the young seedlings are obtained in an amount of (1000×4 to 8=) 4000-8000 seedlings per lot. When 1000 seedlings among the produced young seedlings are used as seedlings for a new tillering treatment, the remaining 3000-7000 seedlings are used as the young seedlings for shipment. Namely, when two lots of the stock seedlings are cultured, while the growth stages of the respective lots are staggered from each other by 30 days, 3000-7000 young seedlings per 30 days are produced.</p> |
