PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device to fold a gas bag of an automobile occupant restraint system extensively reducing processing time required for folding. SOLUTION: A gas bag 5 has a three-dimensional shape at the time when it is inflated, and a wall of the gas bag 5 has a fixed section on which an inflating port 20 is provided, a section on the opposite side of the fixed section and a connected wall section between these two wall sections under a method to fold the gas bag 5 of an automobile occupant restraint system, Additionally, the gas bag 5 is folded into a shape suitable for an inner space of a storage room from a deflated and flat spread state, and folding of the gas bag 5 is intrinsically carried out by relatively rotating at least the two wall sections against each other.
