PURPOSE: To produce a metal cord excellent in corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance and oblique breaking strength resistance, and suitable as a reinforcing material for rubber composite materials such as tires, conveyer belts and high pressure hoses. CONSTITUTION: A cord is produced by paralleling m (5<=m<=7) metal filaments 1-2 each having a spiral fixed curve shape on a core C comprising two twisted metal filaments 1-1 each having a diameter of dc, and subsequently twisting n (1<=n<=12) metal filaments 2 on the outside of the formed inner sheath 1 to bind the metal filaments. Therein, the dc and the do satisfy the following inequality: do/2 1/sin(π/m)-1)-2/100<=dc<=do/2 1/sin (π/m)-1}+8/100. |
