PURPOSE: To save labor and to increase sale by totally automating the exchange of money and enabling series of processing by a user without being troubled by personal relations. CONSTITUTION: First of all, a customer to select and barrow a video or CD operates a shop side operating part 52 so that a membership card can be read by a card reader 53. When the identity of a member is confirmed, a merchandise slot 57 is opened. When the desired merchandise to be borrowed is put into this opened slot 57, that merchandise is placed on a belt conveyer inside and its various data are read by a reading part. Then, the rental fee of merchandise is instantaneously displayed on a display part 49 and the customer pays that fee. When the fee is properly paid and there is change, a receipt and the change are put out of a receipt/change slot 56 and the merchandise is ejected to an outside merchandise take-out port 71. Then, it is enough for the customer just to go through a crime preventing gate 50 and to receive the merchandise from the outside take-out port 71. |
