PURPOSE: To suppress deviation of the center of contact due to biased wearing of a magnetic recording medium slide surface without injuring the magnetic characteristic, to hold an excellent electro-magnetic conversion characteristic for a long time and to suppress lowering in output. CONSTITUTION: At least magnetic gap G forming parts of a pair of magnetic cores 1, 2 are constituted of V direction signal crystal ferrites 3a, 3b making the magnetic recording medium slide surface the 211 surface, a gap forming surface the 111 surface and a magnetic path constitution surface orthogonally crossing the magnetic recording medium slide surface and the gap forming surface the 110 surface. At least the magnetic recording medium slide surfaces 1b, 2b sides of the remaining parts of the magnetic cores 1, 2 are constituted ofβdirection single crystal ferrites 4a, 4b making the magnetic recording medium slide surface the 110 surface, one main surface parallel to the gap forming surface the 100 surface and the magnetic path constitution surface orthogonally crossing the magnetic recording medium slide surface and one main surface the 110 surface.
