PURPOSE: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine which prevents high voltage which has electrified a magnetic path constituting member, from leaking to low voltage side. CONSTITUTION: An ignition coil for an internal combustion engine is equipped with a magnetic path constituting member comprising an iron core 502, a magnet 504, etc., a secondary spool 510 provided around this magnetic path constituting member, a secondary coil 512 wound on this secondary spool 510, a primary spool 514 provided around the secondary spool 510, a primary coil 516 wound around this primary spool 514, and a lead wire 512a connected electrically to a primary terminal 20, being lead out of one of the secondary coil 512. Since a case 514f made at one end of the primary spool 514 and a case 510f made at one end of the secondary spool 510 are positioned between this lead wire 512a and the iron core 502 being the magnetic path constituting member and the magnet 504, the insulation breakdown strength between the iron core 501 and the magnet 504 and the lead wire 512a can be increased. |
