<p>PURPOSE: To perform a calibration which offers excellent operability, a simple device constitution and an optimum recording level with high precision. CONSTITUTION: After the judgement of the tape type and recording possibility and the detector of the present position of a tape 70, when an instruction to perform recording operation is given signal recording for calibration is performed (arrow FA). Then, the tape 70 is rewound to the recording starting position (arrow FB), and the optimum value of recording level is detected by reproduction (arrow FC). Then, the tape 70 is rewound again (arrow FD) and recording is started at the optimum recording level from the original position (arrow FE). Since the operation of calibration is automatically performed at the time of indicating recording, the operability viewed from the user's side is improved. No circuit for virgin tape detection is required.</p> |
