<p>A slide compound miter saw includes a base and a turntable mounted on the base for rotation about a vertical axis. The turntable has a generally planar turntable support surface for supporting thereon a workpiece. A longitudinally extending support shaft is mounted on the turntable for movement therewith. The support shaft has a longitudinal bevel axis coplanar with the turntable support surface. The miter saw also includes a cutting unit mounted on the support shaft for longitudinal movement toward and away from the turntable and for rotational movement about the bevel axis relative to the turntable.</p> |
