PURPOSE: To efficiently store position registering signal traffic and incoming call traffic in a system by adaptively setting a position registration area corresponding to the ratio of the position registering signal traffic and the incoming call traffic. CONSTITUTION: While paying attention to the deviation of the time zones of the peaks of position registration traffic and speech traffic, the position registration area is adaptively set to be wide at the peak time of position registration traffic and to be narrow at the peak time of speech traffic. When the incoming call (speech) traffic is relatively less in the time zone when the movement gets peak, the traffic of a position registration request signal is suppressed by widening the position registration area and only when it is really required for call incoming (mainly when a power source is turned on), the position registration request signal is transmitted. Oppositely, when the incoming call traffic gets to a peak, the position registration area is set narrow so that the incoming call traffic can be stored while being suppressed. |
