PURPOSE: To provide a highly reliable ceramic electronic component which can absorb the external force added to an external electrode and besides does not cause the break and tear of an external electrode layer. CONSTITUTION: External electrodes 8 and 9 are made at both ends of a ceramic sintered substance 2. The external electrodes 8 and 9 are made of, from the side of lower layers, first electrode layers 8a and 9a being made by the application and baking of conductive paste, second electrode layers 8b and 9b consisting of conductive resin, third electrode layers 10 and 11 consisting of Ni-plated films 5μm thick, and fourth electrode layers 8c and 9c consisting of Sn-plated layers.
