PURPOSE: To stabilize soliton transmission in improved state and improve the soliton transmission properties in comparison with the case connected at random by connecting fibers whose group speed dispersion values are not even in a specified order. CONSTITUTION: Electric signals 11 to be transmitted are modulated by a modulating means 12 to obtain a light source 13, the light rays emitted out of the light source 13 are transmitted through a large number of fibers 14 [F1 , F2 , F3 , F4 ,..., FN] connected in series, the transmitted light rays are received by a photodetector 16, which is the transmission destination, and demodulated by a demodulating means 17, and the data transmitted being converted into electric signals 18 are received. The average value of group speed dispersion values of the fibers 14 is calculated and the fibers 14 are classified based on the deviation from the average value, and the fibers 14 are successively connected in the order in which the deviation of integration value of the group speed dispersion corresponding to the laid distance of the fibers 14 can be lowered or made to be the minimum. |
