PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of prolonging service life, keeping image quality over a long period and reducing running cost by providing a means for heating a transfer belt in rollers for supporting the transfer belt thereby preventing the transfer belt from being cracked while being locally curved and enlogated/contracted. SOLUTION: Suitable heat generating bodies 22a-22c such as a halogen heater, a ceramic heater and a nichrome wire heater are arranged in the rollers 15 and 12 on which the transfer belt 9 is extended respectively, and the belt 9 is heated by these heat generating bodies 22a-22c. Further, the surface temp. of the belt 9 is adjusted to a fixed temp. by a detecting means such as a termistor. When a PTC heater, etc., capable of self-controlling the temp. are utilized to adjust it, the detecting means is dispensed with. In such a case, it is preferable that the surface temp. of the belt 9 is set 15-50 deg.C, suitably 20<=40 deg.C. Thus, a deterioration in image quality caused by the hardening and deforming of the belt 9 can be prevented. |
