PURPOSE: To prevent the leakage of toner from both ends of a developing roller to the outside of a developing device by using the developing roller having an elastic member such as a rubber formed on the outer periphery and providing members having small frictional resistance and being excellent in slidability on both ends of the developing roller. CONSTITUTION: Both end faces of the elastic member (rubber, etc.,) formed on the outer periphery of the developing roller 1 do not come into direct contact with sealing members 20, but sliding members 17 force-fitted or stuck to both ends of the developing roller 1 rub the sealing members 20. The sliding members 17 have the small frictional resistance, so that a toner scraping action is small and the toner scraping action caused by the elastic member on both faces of the roller l in a conventional example can be prevented. Moreover, a film required in the conventional example is dispensed with as well. Since back seals 18 on both ends of the developing roller and the elastic member formed on the outer periphery of the roller 1 can not be directly rubbed, the leakage of the toner caused in the parts in the conventional example can be prevented as well. |
