PURPOSE: To perform highly accurate color conversion, to be easily suitable for the chrominance signal characteristics of an input device without increasing a circuit scale and to perform gamut alarm and a compression processing, etc., at a high speed. CONSTITUTION: A picture input device 3 scans an original and generates the chrominance signals of the respective 8 bits of RGB. The RGB signals are converted to device independent intermediate chrominance signals L*a*b* (respectively 8 bits) by an NN color converter 1 (neutral network color converter). Then, the L*a*b* signals are converted to the respective 8 bits of CMYK by a three-dimensional LUT(look up table) color converter 2 which is a second color converter and supplied to a picture output device 4. |
