PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of quench which takes place in a ferromagnetic field due to a small temperature margin since a thermal permanent current switch is often mounted in a ferromagnetic field resultant from switch mounting space restrictions. CONSTITUTION: A thermal permanent current switch 1 is provided with an oxide superconductor 6 of Bi2 Sr2 Ca1 Cu2 O8 on a shaft of a bobbin 2 and upper and lower flanges and a nickel-chromium wire 8 and superconducting NbTi alloy wire 10 are wound in a noninductive manner around the outer peripheral part of the shaft, thereby forming a heater 9 and a superconducting coil 11 where an oxide superconductor-made pipe 13 is passed to the outlet 12 of a lead wire while a half cylinder 14 made of an oxide superconductor is mounted on the outer peripheral part of the superconducting coil 11 and impregnated with epoxy resin on the whole. |
