PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device which can exactly cope with a current utilization condition of the device with a simple constitution and can conduct cooling operations without unnecessary electric power consumption. CONSTITUTION: An original is irradiated by the light from the light source of an optical system. Based on the reflected light, an electrostatic latent image of the original is formed on a photoreceptor drum. The electrostatic latent image is developed, fixed and an image formation of the original is conducted. When a CPU 30 discriminates a calculated value N, stored in an memory 31, of the utilization condition data based on the driving of the optical system exceeds a prescribed calculated value (a) which is preset, the CPU 30 sets a cooling time and a cooling mode setting means 35 sets the cooling mode which prohibits an image formation in the image forming device during the cooling time. Moreover, the utilization condition data stored in the memory 31 are always corrected by the voltage data of an exposing lamp, a copying mode and the lamp off time data of an exposing lamp, the cooling based on the utilization condition data corresponding to the utilization condition of the optical system is conducted and high quality image forming is performed. |
