PURPOSE: To provide an intermediate transfer body and an image forming device using this transfer body by which good workability is maintained without decreasing the mechanical strength, slipping is prevented, reliability for the life of the transfer body is maintained, misalignment for superposing of images is prevented, the transfer efficiency is improved, and the production of abnormal images can be prevented. CONSTITUTION: Org. resin particles having the volume resistivity controlled to 1×10<8> -1×10<14>Ω.cm are incorporated into only the surface layer of an intermediate transfer body 19. The sheet resistance of the back surface layer is controlled to 1×10<7> -1×10<12>Ω/sq. The amt. and particle size of the org. resin particles are specified to obtain enough releasing property and mechanical strength, and thereby, the transfer efficiency can be improved and the production of abnormal images can be prevented.
