CHAMBER OF PULSE DETONATION ENGINE

FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: chamber is a Hartmann generator and consists of resonator and Laval nozzle mounted inside the common housing. When fuel components are supplied to the mixing chamber they are mixed. The working mixture obtained flows through the throat and enters the nozzle of external expansion which always operates in steady- state condition. The mixture being accelerated up to MM≥22 enters the resonator space wherein oscillation is exited and shock waves occur that in turn generate detonation waves. The thrust occurs due to interaction of the detonation wave with the resonator bottom as well as due to propulsion force exerted by supersonic jet that outflows from the nozzle. EFFECT: simplified design and decreased sizes.
