<p>PURPOSE: To cut off a needless electron beam generated by noise voltage, in a multibeam source having a plurality of electron emission elements. CONSTITUTION: In the drive of a display panel 201 equipped with a multielectron beam source having a plurality of electron emission elements, the switching element 202 divides a plurality of electron emission elements into a plurality of groups (L pieces of row), and changes them in order into drive condition, in group units (rows). The electron beam generated by the above electron emission element by the noise voltage generated at changeover into drive condition by these group units is cut with a grid for modulation. That is, the output of a gate array 206 becomes zero by the TOFF generated from a timing control circuit 203 based on the changeover timing of the switching timing, and cut off voltage is applied from a D/A converter 207 to the grid electrode for modulation, and the passage of electron beams is checked.</p> |
