PURPOSE: To inexpensively and easily provide a toner layer regulating member capable of properly regulating the layer thickness of the toner layer of a toner carrier and excellent in mechanical strength. CONSTITUTION: A developing unit 1 is provided with the roller-like toner carrier 8 arranged to face a cylindrical image carrier 11 and supplying toner T to an electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier 11, to make the electrostatic latent image visualizable, a toner supplying roller 9 supplying the toner to the toner carrier 8, the toner layer regulating member 3 brought into press-contact with the toner carrier 8 and regulating the layer thickness of the toner T supplied to the image carrier 11 and the toner layer regulating member 3 is composed of a thin sheet material 4 having spring and a columnar bar-like member 5 attached to the top end part of the thin sheet material 4 and having prescribed curvature. The toner layer regulating member 3 is fixed to a developing unit main body 1a, to abut the bar-like member 5 on the surface of the toner carrier 8. Moreover, the bar-like member 5 is disposed in contact with a slope on a side near the toner supplying roller 9, on the outer periphery of the toner carrier 8. |
