PURPOSE: To provide a recording device which needs only a little maintainance and facilitates optical axis adjustment with a simple constitution. CONSTITUTION: A nonlinear optical element built in a laser light generating section 1 outputs the outgoing light transformed in the range of the wavelengths of 0.3 to 0.36μm through a nonlinear optical process. This outgoing light is subjected to the modulation in accordance with the external recording information by a light modulation section 3 to obtain illuminating light for exposure use, which forms images on an original optical disk 7 coated with a light sensitive material by a recording lens 4 which includes an automatic focussing mechanism using a servo adjusting biaxial actuator 5, etc. And, while rotating the optical disk 7, a recording lens 4 scans this original optical disk 7 to write recording information.
