PURPOSE: To improve the crispiness of a sound band signal by changing the amplitude and the phase of the sound band signal component in an audio signal in a specific listening position. CONSTITUTION: The inputted audio signal is separated into a high frequency component and a low frequency component by HPFs 10 and 11 and LPFs 14 and 15. The high frequency component separated by BPFs 10 and 11 is delayed in delay devices 12 and 13 by the extent of delay in FIR filters 18 to 21 and is inputted to one inputs of adders 28 and 29. The low frequency component separated by LPFs 14 and 15 is changed to desired amplitude and phase characteristics by FIR filters 18 to 21 and passes LPFs 26 and 27 for antialiasing and is inputted to the other inputs of adders 28 and 29. When a control switch 31 is depressed, a coefficient changer 30 changes coefficients of FIR filters 18 to 21 to perform switching between amplitude and phase characteristics for control of the sound band signal included in the audio signal and those for non-control of this sound band signal.
