PURPOSE: To attain the two-way optical communication with high reliability by aborting data received through a single optical transmission line during transmission of data at a line controller and respective terminal equipments so as to eliminate a reflected light. CONSTITUTION: In a tree type optical network comprising single optical transmission lines, a line controller 12 is provided at a start point of a tree and a terminal equipment 22 is provided at an end of the tree. When the line controller 12 sends data to each terminal equipment 22, the data received through a single optical transmission line are forcibly aborted and when the transmission is finished, the usual reception state is recovered. When each terminal equipment 22 sends data to the line controller 12 via a single optical transmission line, the data received through a single optical transmission line are forcibly aborted and when the transmission is finished, the usual reception state is recovered. Thus, the reflected light of the transmission light is not misrecognized as reception data even in the single optical transmission line and simultaneous transmission of an incoming and an outgoing optical signals in the line will not take place. |
