PURPOSE: To realize a snubber circuit without the need of a snubber resistor by connecting a snubber diode and a snubber capacitor in series, and providing a DC/DC converter having both terminal voltage of the snubber capacitor as an input. CONSTITUTION: A snubber circuit is provided in the DC section of the main circuit 4 of an inverter composed of a plurality of switching devices 41, 42. This snubber circuit is obtained by connecting a snubber diode 5 and a snubber capacitor 6 in series and providing a DC/DC converter 82 having both terminal voltage of the snubber capacitor 6 as an input. As a result, energy absorbed by the snubber capacitor 6 is consumed as a no-load loss of the DC/DC converter 82. When it is large and unable to be consumed only by the no-load loss, it is consumed by the control circuit 9, the ventilation fan 10, etc., of the inverter device being the load of the DC/DC converter 82. Accordingly, it becomes unnecessary to use a snubber resistor. |
