PURPOSE: To provide a surround signal processor which reduces correlations of rear sounds in the right and the left to obtain satisfactory surround sound field control and gives a sense of natural spread. CONSTITUTION: A comb line filter 1 and a sound image orienting circuit 2 are provided. The filter 1 is provided with a delay circuit 1a which gives an extent of delay to a surround signal S to output a delay signal T, an adder 1b which outputs the sum signal obtained by adding the delay signal T to the surround signal S, and a difference device 1c which outputs the difference signal obtained by subtracting the delay signal T from the surround signal S. The circuit 2 is provided with an Lch sound image orienting circuit which has right and left acoustic image orienting filters 21b and 21a for respective rear surround signals, an Rch sound image orienting circuit which has right and left sound image orienting filters 21d and 21c for respective rear surround signals, an adder 212 which adds outputs of left filters 21a and 21d, and an adder 21f which adds outputs of right filters 21b and 21c. Virtual sound images are orientated in the right and the left at the rear with respect to rear sounds, the correlations between them are eliminated or reduced. |
