PURPOSE: To efficiently conduct learning by providing a reproducing section which reproduces a learning software, detecting the degree of proficiency of a learner and controlling the speed of output voice of the device in accordance with the degree of proficiency. CONSTITUTION: A reproducing section 5, which reproduces an English conversation learning tape 10, is provided with a motor 51 which moves the tape 10 at a prescribed speed and a magnetic head 52 which reproduces voice from the running tape 10. A motor rotation speed control section 4 controls the rotation speed of the motor 51 based on the reproducing speed instruction from a voice speed control section 3. Moreover, a fast listening/slow listening mode setting section 1 sets either the mode, in which the output voice speed is increased as the degree of proficiency is improved, or the mode in which the speed is reduced as the degree of proficiency is degraded. The section 3 controls the reproducing speed of the section 5 and decides the output voice speed based on the mode set by the section 1 and the degree of proficiency of the learner detected by a degree of proficiency detecting section 2. |
