PURPOSE: To automatically set a photographing mode and make handling and operation of a camera easy only by setting a supporting stand in standing state by installing a detecting means to detect the standing state of the supporting stand and sending out the detection information and a controlling means to set a specified photographing mode among photographing modes based on the information sent out of the detecting means. CONSTITUTION: When a barrier 4 is rotated further to a standing up position from a position at which the barrier 4 is opened at approx 90 degrees, a switch contact piece is set at a standing up switch region C from a main switch ON position B and a stand switch S11 is turned ON. In this way, a barrier 4 is opened and the stand switch S11 is turned ON and at the same time leg parts 30 are opened and stand switches S12, S13 are turned ON and thus all of the switches S11-S13 are turned ON and when a detecting means D detects the standing up state wherein a supporting stand is set, a controlling means E sets a remote control mode F based on the detection information. Attributed to the setting of the mode F, a shutter is opened by remote control and a subject for photographing can be photographed by remote control photographing. |
