The high speed current interruption circuit has multiple transistor switches (6) connected in series. Each transistor has its gate controlled by a control line (13) connected through a resistance (14) to each transistor gate. A voltage generator (21) controlled by a supplementary switch (22) is connected to each control line (13) so it can short circuit the gate resistances (14). The voltage generator reverses the sign of the potential to the gates, coupling the reversal through saturating voltage transformers (23). The transformers are connected in the gate circuits of the control transistors (30) that bridge the resistors (14) in the gate circuit of each of the main switching transistors.
