<p>A hand-held driver for use with removable driving bits, such as screwdriver or nut-driver bits. The driver includes a handle (5) adapted to be hand-held, and a shaft (2). The shaft (2) has a proximal end (20) secured to the handle (5), and a distal end (22) with a recess (24) sized and shaped to enable a driving bit (10) to be insertable therein and removable therefrom with a driving end of the driving bit (10) extending from the shaft (2). A retaining ring (28) circumferentially surrounds the shaft (2) at the distal end (22). The retaining ring (28) has an open end (100) that has a size and shape corresponding to the recess (24). A storage cap (30) includes one or more bit-receiving slots (34). Each slot (34) includes resilient elements (36) integrally molded with the cap (30) to maintain a bit (10) within a slot (34).</p> |
